John Reed description of the Russian Revolution is very detailed and to the point about the Russian Revolution. He first describes about the beginning of the Revolution, the causes of the Revolution. The next part that John Reed explains is the forming of all the new little political parties such as; All-Russians Soviets Workers" and Soldiers Deputies, Provincial Zemstvos, Trade Unions, Army Committees at the front, and many more. Reed then talks about all the little strikes and little revolts that take place. Then deals and proclamations come around to try to stop the revolution before it escalates. Lenin then gave a proclamation basically to state his dominance in the government as of then. John Reed point"s makes the book very accurate to what happened during the Russian Revolution and with this primary source we now know what actually happened inside the revolution.
The starting of the revolution was simple. Of course the people of Russia were not happy with the way the country was being ran so they wanted a new one. "Meanwhile the soldiers began to solve the peace question by simply deserting, the peasants burned manor-houses and took over the great estates, the workers sabotaged and struck?. Of course, as was natural, the manufacturers, landowners, and army officers exerted all their influence against any democratic compromise?."(Reed 30) This was a big deal

according to Reed because this is the start of a revolution, destruction. Shortly after new political parties started to gather. The Democratic conference was about to take place. Kerensky wanted to have different types of the people, so he suggested it and The Soviet shot it down and they elected there own delegates to the Democratic conference. This was one of the first times that the Soviets seem to be taking power away from the Russian government.
